Technological evolution of UV luminaires

UV222 Lamp

Effective and safe solution for everyday life

The UV222 Luminaire effectively inactivates viruses and bacteria in the air and on surfaces, including COVID-19. By using a wavelength of 222nm, it is safe to be used in busy environments such as workplaces or regular meeting spaces, thus representing one of the biggest recent technological advances to return to a new normal.

Traditional UV Lamps

Ultraviolet light has been used as a germicide for more than a century and is known worldwide for its efficiency in eliminating viruses and bacteria in enclosed spaces. However, traditional UV luminaires use wavelengths of 240 nm-280 nm, the most common being 254 nm, which is harmful to human tissue. This implies that they should only be used in unoccupied spaces or, with personal protective equipment.

New FAR UV Lamps

Recent studies show that FAR UV technology offers a vital solution to mitigate the spread of pathogens in crowded indoor spaces.

Operating at a wavelength of 222nm, it has better pathogen reduction capabilities than the 254nm wavelength. In addition, because of its shorter wavelength, it does not damage human tissue.

The UV222 Luminaire is manufactured with state-of-the-art technology. The lamp is a Kr-Cl excimer type discharge lamp (Krypton-Chlorine), whose emission is located in the far UV-C range, with a wavelength of 222nm. It also has a security filter that blocks unwanted secondary emissions, thus guaranteeing its safety for human use.
